PROFESSIONAL MARINE SURVEYING

AC Marine Surveys LLC will provide you with a professional and comprehensive survey of your vessel whether it is needed for a pre-purchase or condition and value for your financing and or insurance company.  I have been working in the marine industry for 30 years.  I am a Survey Associate with The Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors®  (SAMS®)  as well as a Certified Master Technician in Electrical, Standards and Systems with the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).  I am a Level I Thermographer which allows me to use the most advanced technology available to conduct non-destructive testing of coring, laminates, electrical equipment as well as machinery. I am also a USCG 100 ton licensed master.  My experience includes extensive knowledge in marine electrical, marine systems, and boat repairs.

Services

You may have found yourself looking for a marine surveyor at the direction of your financial institution while seeking financing on a new boat purchase or maybe your insurance company requires a recent survey to provide condition and value.  But it is my opinion that the true value of a marine surveyor is to provide you with the peace of mind that the vessel you are buying is safe for your family and crew and that any deficiencies will be discovered providing you with a true market value and replacement cost.  Buying a boat is probably the second largest investment you will make in your life.  The cost of a marine survey is a fraction of the purchase price and could potentially save you thousands of dollars in unexpected repair costs.  I will always work for my customer to provide them with the most thorough and complete inspection possible.  Call anytime for more information regarding the services I provide or how I can assist in your next purchase.

Pre-purchase survey

A Pre-purchase survey is the most comprehensive survey used when purchasing a boat to determine market value and replacement cost.  A thorough inspection is performed which includes a haul-out and sea-trial

Condition & Value

Condition & Value surveys are performed for your insurance company to provide them with an insurance value of a boat you already own and usually required to be performed every 3-5 years or whenever the value of your vessel has changed usually after significant improvements have been performed

Damage Survey

Damage surveys are performed after a vessel has sustained damaged and an insurance claim is to be submitted.  This involves an inspection of the vessel and the extent of the damage.
